The Saudi Center for Opinion Polls (SCOP) participated in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, held at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, through a panel discussion titled “From the Childhood of Books to the Childhood of Screens.” The session presented the results of a survey on children’s reading habits, led by Mr. Saud Al-Ghamdi and moderated by Ms. Noura Al-Roumi. The discussion received wide engagement from the audience, generating a rich dialogue around the survey’s findings. Participants expressed their appreciation to SCOP for its ongoing annual initiatives and dedicated efforts to promote reading in its various dimensions.

Visit of the Danish and Finnish Embassies
The Saudi Center for Opinion Polls (SCOP) received Her Excellency Ambassador Anu-Eerika Viljanen, Ambassador of Finland, and Her Excellency Ambassador Liselotte Plesner, Ambassador of Denmark to the Kingdom. The visit focused on discussing the center’s activities and community vision, and reviewing public opinions on issues such as tourism, sports, and Saudi Vision 2030. The ambassadors also toured the center’s departments and learned about the center’s work, expressing their appreciation for the important community role played by the center.

SCOP concluded its participation in the 77th annual international conference hosted by the World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR), held in Seoul, South Korea, from July 28-31. The conference was attended by hundreds of researchers from 51 countries. Dr. Abdullah Alhokail, President of SCOP, highlighted the importance of addressing this methodological issue in his research paper, especially considering the current variance in international practices and the lack of specific solutions from recognized international bodies. Public Opinion Polling and the Economy
The Saudi Center for Opinion Polls (SCOP) recently engaged in an insightful session at the Public Investment Fund (PIF) hosted by Dr. Ismail Radwan, Director for Economics and Investment Strategy, focusing on “The power of polling.” During the visit, Dr Abdullah Alhokail and Cees Faber showcased examples across various sectors such as sports, tourism, housing, health, and expats, emphasizing the significance of representative sampling, scientific rigor, and accuracy throughout the survey process. Furthermore, critical points and “watch-outs” to consider when conducting surveys were highlighted, enriching the discussion.
